Dear Rainbeau,

Last Tuesday was the first day of the month, which normally means no more than paying my rent. But this month it means May Day.

And for most people this doesn’t mean anything… other than trying to avoid getting stuck in protest traffic. But for me, I have fond memories of making May Day baskets with my mom and delivering them to our neighbors.

On Monday the 30th, I took an early morning ride to the flower market to pick up my order. I’m not quite sure how I fit everything on the back of my moped… but it worked. That night I put all the “baskets” together, printed out the tags, and prepped the ribbons.

The next morning, it was time to deliver the contents of my trunk to friends, clients, and a few folks I owed a thank you.

I spent a couple hours driving from Highland Park, to South Pas, to Los Feliz, Silverlake, Atwater, Downtown, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice.

After I got home, the post-lunch time texts & instagram photos began to trickle in. Then more and more once people got home from work. Everyone was so sweet!

I am so lucky to have friends who appreciate my antics and embrace my creepy impulses : )

Dear Rainbeau, The thing I love most about having family visit me in Los Angeles is that it makes me go do things and see new places that I keep putting off. Nate is here this week and I FINALLY went to LACMA to see the California Design exhibit. And I loved it! love, Rainbeau

Dear Rainbeau,

With the cooperation of Dogtown Dogs & Verdugo Bar I organized a Wesley Snipes-themed dog & beer pairing during the post-dodgeball hang out on Wednesday.

Whipped up a sweet little menu for the bar and some Snipes movie quotes food picks for the dogs. What a fun little evening! I ordered the Californian and the Citra Pale Ale and you know what, I’d do it again.

Dear Rainbeau, Well we’ve finally done it. Our social life just peaked. Last night we went to the best, most funnest ever, party. There was booze, friends, strangers, a puppet show (which was hilarious, I promise), illegal substances, a “wedding band”, pageantry and snakes! When I was invited, I was told to prepare for the greatest party ever. And boy do the Emerson alum live up to the hype. Thank you and until next year, Rainbeau
